Entertainment has always been the means of amusement, an harmless distraction from our earthly problems. What better way to do that other than Superheroes? The Marvel comics legends who travelled a great distant to save the people they love, with style and citable sense of humor.
When you hear Marvel Comics, the very first image that comes to mind is none other than the legend himself, Stan Lee. However, the greatest superheroes were not created single-handedly. It was never a struck of luck, the million dollar franchise took a lot of patience and various altercations. Furthermore, the renowned artist Jack Kirby envisage and manifested the Stan Lee imagination into potent and meaningful Superheroes.
So, how did the multi million dollars franchise, (Marvel Comics) first began its legacy?
Well, it all started with Martin Goodman, a pulp magazine publisher in 1939. He began creating “Timely comics” with extraordinary Superheroes who fought tooth and nail with the evils in peculiar fashion.
This idea began with a vision to exploit the popularity of comics; the first ever comic book dates way back to October 1939 featuring distinctive superheroes, The Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner.
As of today, I highly doubt there are fans who haven’t heard of the pioneers themselves. Nonetheless, we will get to them later. First, lets take deep dive into the creator of the significant entertainment powerhouse that we know today as the Marvel Studios.

Timely Comics : Golden Age
In the 40’s Timely Comics stepped into the Golden age by introducing superheroes like Captain America (1941). These timely comics characters were fighting the Nazis and Japanese long before the Unites States went to war, World War II. Goodman had the unique vision, sadly the characters failed to connect with the comic book readers, with that the Captain America and Timely comics genre came to a brief stop in the 50’s.
Change in Name
The beginning of the decade marked a transformation, Atlas Magazine a new name and a fresh start. With that Goodman, tried to bring back the superheroes, most importantly, Captain America. In the meantime, Goodman put his efforts and began experimenting with genres of humor, horror, war, science fiction and westerns.
Marvel Comics Vs DC Comics : Silver Age
While Goodman was busy with the experimentation, the DC comics took a big leap to its Silver-age with eloquent Superhero characters; that resonated with the readers followed by great commercial success.
Goodman decided to rename the Atlas Magazine to Marvel Comics in the early 60’s. This began a new era of comic rivalry between DC and Marvel fans, where the two companies grew massive with their timeless creation one after another. Unfortunately, the eminence came to a brief stop for the Marvel Comics , the disputable management decisions fast-tracked the company to declare bankruptcy in 1996.

Diverse Approach
In 1998, Marvel Comics surfaced from the bankruptcy up and beyond, aiming towards a diverse demographics. Launching its cinematic magic under the Marvel Studios Banner. Thus, began the intricate and distinctive era of Marvel Studios that we know, and love.
Digital comics took off in 2007, the debate between the Superheroes Vs the Villains, grew immense. Every little thing became of importance. Their powers, weakness, even the tiniest tweak is discussed in great lengths. To this day, there is no scarcity of this love-hate relationship among the fans of the greatest science fictions ever.
