Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings is the first Marvel movie with an Asian lead and heavy influence of Asian culture. Unlike previous Marvel movies, Shang-Chi sets a genre of its own.
Since most of our old heroes either died or grew old in the Avengers: End game, Shang-Chi is a new avenger who will protect the earth from villains that are hell-bent on destroying it.
The Director of the movie Destin Daniel Crotton took a huge risk, and it paid off since most dialogues in the movie are in Chinese, giving a realistic Chinese vibe to the whole movie.
All the fans seemed to love this decision. The movie is well-liked by fans and critics as well. Shang Chi has a rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Talking about cinematography, it is on the top level. The movie is visually stunning to watch. If you combine cinematography with sound, animation, and VFX, the whole experience is on another level.
The movie has a strong storyline which you’ll have to watch to know about.
Who will be playing in Shang-Chi?
Shang-Chi has a cast of talented actors and actresses, the most famous of them being Tony Leung. Leung plays Wenwu, who is the estranged father of Shang-Chi. His acting is so intense that you can feel the weight of his character whenever he appears on the screen.
Simu Liu plays the main protagonist of the movie, whose name is Shang Chi. Although raised to be a killer by his father, he decides to run away when he was young.
Shang-Chi’s father is a tyrannical ruler who has influenced the world secretly through a society called Ten rings. But he calmed down and chose peace after falling in love with Jiang Li(Fala Chen).
Unfortunately, his mother died, and his father turned back to his old ruthless self, and he trained to make his son a ruthless killer.
The film also stars Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Meng’er Zhan as Xu Xialing, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.
How much money has Shang-Chi made at Box Office?
On Friday, Shang-Chi grossed $29 million in the domestic market and grossed $23 million in the international market, making a total of $52 million.
On Labor day weekend, the movie collected a total of $90 million in the first four days of release domestically. In the international market of France, Italy, Spain, and UK, it gathered $56.2 million, making a total of $146.2 million worldwide.
We expect Shang-Chi to be one of the major hits in this year’s box office. Shang-Chi is already helping the economy of movie theaters, and we hope it will continue to do so.
When will Shang-Chi release in China?
Until now Shang-Chi doesn’t have a release date in China yet. Since 2012′s The Avengers, China is the second-highest grossing box office for all Marvel movies, just behind the U.S. and Canada. This could hurt it’s box office earning as China is a very big market place for Marvel.
