This week has been a roller coaster of emotions for fans of Lionel Messi. Lionel Messi’s choice to leave Barcelona and join the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has become a major headline for the whole week.
For the past 20years, Messi played with Barcelona. His decision to leave will make Barcelona hollow as he was the main reason for Barcelona’s worldwide fame and success. Although Messi still desired to be in Barcelona, the Spanish League rejected him because they could not afford him. It is important to note that the Catalan club has a debt of more than 1.2 billion euros (1.4 billion dollars).

On Tuesday afternoon, Messi moved to Paris with his wife and three sons. He signed a two-year contract with PSG to stay in Paris for at least two years.
According to an unofficial source, Messi has agreed to play for 35 million euros (41 million dollars) annually, including bonuses. However, Messi can also extend the contract for three years if he chooses to do so.
Messi will be wearing a No. 30 jersey, which he wore in his first two seasons with Barcelona. Lionel Messi will be wearing an official club jersey other than Barcelona for the first time in 20 years.
On Thursday, Messi met with his new teammates in the PSG training facility, where he greeted and hugged everyone. Kylian Mbappe was happy to see Messi in the flesh as he even posted a photo of them in his Instagram account. After meeting and greeting everyone, Messi started his training with his new teammates.
At PSG, Mauricio Pochettino will coach Lionel Messi. Pochettino is a former player of the Parisian Club and a fellow Argentinian. We are expecting to see more growth of Messi this season.
Although it is not confirmed, Lionel Messi will perform his debut at PSG with the match against Reims on August 29 or against Clermont Foot on September 12.
