Alica Schmidt, also known as “World’s Sexiest Athlete” didn’t make her Olympic debut in the 4x400m relay on Saturday night. After qualifying for the mixed relay, the 22-year-old German now in Tokyo and was looking forward for the Games. But before Alica could compete for her first medal, the team was disqualified for making contact with the Jamaican team.
Meanwhile Alica was cheering her team and documenting her stay and practice session on Instagram. With 2.3M followers in the Instagram alone, Alica is one of the popular social media stars in Tokyo. Despite the fame, the Puma-sponsored athlete’s first and main priority is Sport. Nonetheless, she is very thankful to her followers said , the 22-year old.
“Off the track, I’m grateful to my followers, because Instagram enables me to do my sport without having to have a part-time job,” she added. “It is difficult to make a living from athletics alone.”

Alica’s title as “World’s Sexiest Athlete” was labelled by an Australian magazine and it has been stuck ever since. But this is not the finish line for the track and field star, she could be part of the women’s 4x400m relay team. Which no doubt will be a dream come true for the athlete.
It has been years of competitive running for Alica to land finally on the Olympics team.
In 2017, she finished second in 4×400 relay in her first European Athletics Under-20 Championship. Following that, Alica won a bronze in European Athletics Under-23, 2019.
