Fairytale may not be everyday miracle. But when miracle do happens, it spreads love all around the magic. Much like Lieutenant Brian Zach, Kingman Police Department and his adoring family.
Almost two and half years ago, the Arizona police officer was on his graveyard shift patrolling around the neighborhood. When he was asked to check on Kaila’s house.
When officer Brian arrived at the house, he found the little girl scared in a corner. To make the matter worst, Kaila had bruises all over hinting abuse. The whole situation pointed toward an immediate investigation, this was the third time, the officer have checked on Kaila. So, Lieutenant Brian Zach took the little girl back to the station.
That’s where the bonding began.
Zach said they watched “Wreck It Ralph”, they colored and enjoyed some delicious snacks. Soon it was time to say goodbye. Another fellow officer took Kaila to the hospital for further inspection.
But Zach couldn’t stop thinking about the brave little survivor. While sharing the events with his wife, he popped the idea of adoption.
Thus, when the Child Protective Services were looking to find temporary home for Kaila. The father of two didn’t hesitate to step up. They made every moment with Kaila fearing they might lose her any day. Days, turned weeks, month then years.
Finally on August, 2020, at Mohave County Superior Court, Zach adopted Kaila.
Just like that a happy start to the new journey. For anyone out there considering adoption, Zach has a message for them,
“Don’t be afraid of the process, its well worth it.”
