There are 14 mountains which are 8000m sea level throughout the world. Only 44 people have climbed all 14 mountains above 8000m and set themselves as legends/icons in mountaineering history.
14 Peaks is a documentary about mountaineer “Nirmal Purja” and his quest to climb all the mountains above 8000 m within seven months. Nirmal Purja who also goes by the name “Nims” is a fearless person with an infectiously optimistic attitude. Even in a dangerous situation where the toughest would think otherwise, Nims relentless and unwavering attitude gets him through.
14 Peaks promises a breath-taking experience and draws your attention without fail. The documentary shows the difficulty faced by mountaineers when climbing the mountains. Nims Purja and his team make climbing mountains look easy, despite being one of the toughest things in the world.
Nims wins our hearts when he goes back to climb Annapurna for the second time to rescue a stranger. Despite having limited time, he doesn’t think twice about helping people in need. At K2 base camp, Nims motivates a group of mountaineers who failed to summit the mountain and makes a path for them to follow.
In the documentary, we see how Nirmal is constantly supported by his mother and wife. These two iron ladies never doubt Nims and his mission.
14 Peaks is a documentary about a man’s dream and the challenges he faces to make those dreams come true.
